First day of class: Sophia in pencil, way too small. Way too faint, way out of porportion.

First class: Sophia in charcoal. Starting over. Better use of the space, but horizontal porportions are still wonky.

Second Class: Sophia in charcoal. Still a little too wide. Lighting on her breasts was rather tricky and I shyed away from the challenge.

Second Class: Sophia in pencil. Better gross porportions, though the head and hands are still off. Starting to draw a little more confidently, finally.

Third Class: Sophia in Charcoal. Nice belly shading. Curse the hand on the right, it was re-done no fewer than 17 times. Rather proud of the thighs.

Fourth Class: Pam in charcoal. Lots of fun with the folds of the robes. The chair turned out neat too, though it got smudged before I applied fixative, darnit.

Fifth Class: Pam in Pastels. Wow! What fun! I haven't used pastels for longer than I can remember. Aside from the nose being a bit flatter than it should have been, I'm really pleased with this one!

Sixth Class: Brooke in charcoal. Not as detailed as I would have liked, the angle and proportions were more difficult than I expected and I had to re-do the legs several times, and finally ran out of time. I'm rather pleased with the face though, I think it captured her expression and identity pretty well. The vertical streaks? Ah, um, late afternoon light and shadows, oops. Rather than try to 'fix/finish' this, I'll probably start over with a new angle next week.

Seventh Class: Brook in Vine Charcoal. Not happy with the eye, and the lips are too close to the nose. Nice gradations and shading I think though.

Seventh Class: Brook in Vine and Charcoal Pencil. Decided to try for a second drawing in class as I didn't want to retouch the first any more for fear of ruining it. I didn't measure this one out at all, I just went for it. The darker darks are charcoal pencil which blend in very nicely if applied first, and then gone over with the lighter vine charcoal.

Closeup of face and torso. Very happy with how this turned out! Nose might be a little small again, oh well.

Eight Class: Brooke in Charcoals. Was feeling rather under the weather, and didn't arrive until midclass. Very not-happy with result, but it's fair considering how I was feeling at the time, I guess.
